Khyber Pakhtunkhwa To Include Quranic Verses On Jihad In Syllabus


Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elementary and secondary education minister and Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Atif Khan has said that Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will rectify the mistake of previous government of removing Quranic verses on Jihad from the syllabus.

Atif Khan was speaking at the meeting of Textbook Board of Peshawar offices. Zakat and Usher minister Habibur Rehman and local government minister Inayatullah Khan from Jamaat-e-Islami were also present in the meeting. Jamaat-e-Islami is part of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. PTI media cell released the press release which stated that participants of meeting were briefed on ‘lacunas and mistakes’ in the current curriculum.

Atif Khan also said during meeting that Islamic teachings will be the basis of his government’s step regarding curriculum. He said that no foreign NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) will be allowed to interfere in the matters relating to curriculum. Atif Khan added that mistakes such as removal of Quranic verses on jihad, mention of Kashmir as an undisputed area and eating with the left hand would be rectified.

Many students and teachers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province appreciated the move of Tehreek-e-Insaf government and said that it is a step in a right direction that curriculum basis will now be made on Islamic teachings.


The Khyber Pakthunkhwa Senior Minister and Jamaat- e -Islami leader Siraj- ul- Haq is also focusing on interest free Islamic banking, the step which is very much appreciated among people.
